 Interlibrary Loan

      • Distance Students are strongly encouraged to use a local library to request books owned
by other libraries than Moffett Library

      • Interlibrary Loan is a library-to-library lending system, so books requested from other
libraries by Distance Students will first be mailed to Moffett Library then would be mailed to
        the student

      • This process will significantly impact the delivery of items and will shorten the amount of
time the student may use the item

      • Check with local libraries about their Interlibrary Loan services and policies to determine
which is the best course of action to take to get the books and/or materials needed from
        other libraries

 Library Resources

      • To request materials from Moffett Library, distance students must live beyond a fifty (50)
mile radius of the Midwestern State University campus

      • Distance students may request library materials that are not available online

      • Items will be mailed directly to the student with a return label provided

      • Circulation policies apply to all students, whether local or distance

      • Items should be returned or renewed before they become overdue to avoid Late Fees
and possible Holds on future registration

      • Incomplete or incorrect information delays the processing of a request so check the
information prior to submitting the request

      • If Interlibrary Loan is not available through a local library, use the Interlibrary Loan system
        of Moffett Library
